NEON has officially released the trailer for EXIT 8, a psychological thriller directed by Genki Kawamura, known as the producer of Your Name. The film is based on the viral 2023 video game “walking simulator” by Kotake Create, and stars Kazunari Ninomiya as The Lost Man, a commuter trapped in an endless sterile subway corridor.
In the film, Ninomiya's character must discover every “anomaly” along the way. If something is wrong or strange, he must turn back; if nothing is, he must continue. The goal? To get out of Exit 8. According to the synopsis, “just one small mistake can send him back to the beginning. Will he reach his goal and escape the endless corridor?”
The cast includes Yamato Kochi and Naru Asanuma, who will add depth and intensity to the story. EXIT 8 premiered at the Midnight Screenings of Cannes 2025, where it received an eight-minute standing ovation—a testament to the film's quality and impact.
After a successful premiere in Japan in August 2025, the film will explode into North American theaters starting April 10. The trailer showcases suspenseful visuals and an engaging narrative, sure to thrill fans of thrillers and gaming adaptations.
