
A tragedy rocked Alaminos City, Pangasinan when a pregnant woman and her one-year-old child died in a three-vehicle collision on Old Bypass Road, Palamis, on the evening of February 1.
The accident involved a kulong-kulong, a motorcycle, and a light truck. According to initial investigation, the family was traveling to lamay in the northern direction of the road, followed by the motorcycle.
Upon arriving at the scene of the incident, the motorcycle collided with the rear of the kulong-kulong. As a result, the driver, his wife who was three months pregnant, and their child were thrown off the road and ended up on the other side of the road. Following this, they were also collided with an oncoming light truck.
The occupants of the kulun-kulun as well as the rider and passenger of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and were immediately rushed to the hospital. The wife and child were declared dead on arrival, while the father of the family continues to receive treatment.
The investigation revealed that the motorcycle rider had consumed alcohol. Currently, a case is being prepared against him. Authorities are continuing their investigation to ensure justice for the family.
