
Marco Bezzecchi, Italian MotoGP star, has renewed a multi-year contract with Aprilia ahead of the pre-season test at Sepang. After moving from VR46 Ducati, he had a strong first year at RS-GP, quickly becoming the main rider after Jorge Martin was sidelined by injuries.
With the help of Aprilia, Bezzecchi has returned the RS-GP to success, including three Grand Prix victories at Silverstone, Portimao, and Valencia. He has accumulated three Sprint race wins and nine podium finishes throughout the season. “I am happy to have renewed my contract for the next two years,” said Bezzecchi. “My aim is to develop a long-term project and I have found the support of the entire team and the Noale factory.”
To celebrate the good news, Bezzecchi held a “wedding ceremony” with his RS-GP, named Albarosa. The ceremony, written in the form of a marriage licence, saw the entire Aprilia team gather in Sepang to celebrate the special moment.
According to Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia Racing, “We are very pleased because this is our priority. We wanted to celebrate the signing in a fun way that suits Marco's personality. His choice to stay with us shows the dedication of the entire team.”
