A key step in innovative healthcare services is the launch of the HEAL Mobile Clinic, a mobile healthcare solution that aims to expand access to preventive and diagnostic care for communities lacking medical facilities. Each unit is designed from a Toyota Coaster, which has been converted into a fully functional clinic capable of delivering medical services closer to patients.
The first unit has been deployed in Ternate, Cavite, where it provides chest X-ray and electrocardiogram (ECG) as initial services. This was followed by the gradual addition of complete laboratory diagnostics such as CBC, HbA1c, urinalysis, and others—all essential for early detection of common diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and respiratory conditions.
The mobile clinic is of great help to Ternate residents who previously had to travel more than two hours for consultations. Through local operations at the Municipal Health Office, travel costs and time are reduced, while also easing demand on large hospitals in the city. It is supported by the LGU, including electricity, waiting areas, and ambulance access, to ensure smooth service.
Meanwhile, the second unit will serve communities around New Clark City, Tarlac, an emerging urban center. Here, mobile diagnostics will help strengthen primary healthcare and address the lack of access to testing as the population and infrastructure continue to expand.
To speed up patient flow, digital self-check-in and automated booking confirmation are being implemented, aiming to reduce waiting times and ensure more organized operations. This initiative demonstrates how mobility is becoming an instrument in delivering inclusive and equitable health services—a model of care that is poised to shape the future of community-based healthcare in the Philippines.
