A senior citizen died after being shot by two unidentified men in Maramag town on Monday morning. According to initial police reports, the victim was outside his home when the suspects approached him pretending to deliver a parcel, a tactic that has raised concerns in the community.
Based on the investigation, the victim first accepted the parcel before one of the suspects suddenly shot him, while his companion aimed at a worker in the area. There was a brief commotion after the first shot missed, but the second shot hit the victim in the head, causing him to fall immediately.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead-on-arrival. Currently, the investigation is ongoing by authorities to determine the motive for the crime and identify the perpetrators. The police also called on the public to be vigilant and immediately report suspicious behavior to prevent similar incidents.
