
A 35-year-old makeup artist and a member of the LGBTQIA+ was found dead on the beach of Barangay Fabrica, Lobo, Batangas on Monday night. The victim, identified as Aljohn Abag, was a resident of Barangay Olo-Olo in Lobo.
The Flock of the Third Sex (FTS) Lobo Organization Inc. condemned the violent killing of its member. According to the group, this was not just an attack on one person but also a bullying of the LGBTQIA+ community.
According to the initial police report, the victim's body was discovered lying on the beach at around 10:25 p.m.. The body was found with numerous scratches on the body and a large wound on the forehead, allegedly caused by a rock.
The suspect has not yet been identified, but it is believed that the victim may have been drinking, based on the alcohol bottles found in the area. Aljohn was also seen in CCTV footage buying alcohol at a store in the area.
Justice is now the cry of family and friends. The police investigation continues to identify the culprit and hold him accountable for the crime, while the community remains sad over the loss of a valuable member.
