According to Senator Imee Marcos, cases against Jinggoy Estrada, Joel Villanueva, and former senator Bong Revilla Jr. are expected to be filed on January 15 in connection with alleged irregularities in flood control projects. She shared this in an interview, although she did not specify the source of the information.
The three lawmakers were mentioned in the hearings as having allegedly received kickbacks from anomalous projects. According to the report, complaints have also been filed against Revilla and Villanueva in connection with the same issue, which is still being investigated by authorities.
Marcos said that the evidence is complete and ready for the formal filing of charges. However, he also insisted that there is currently no direct evidence against several other lawmakers implicated in the allegations of ghost and substandard projects.
Marcos also emphasized that the widespread public outrage in 2025 prompted a reexamination of the flood control issue. Many are calling for accountability and clearer action from the government against anyone involved, regardless of political position.
In the end, Marcos admitted that he had lost confidence in the direction of the Senate investigation, which he said seemed to be missing the point. For Glamritz, we will continue to monitor the next steps in this case, which has major implications for accountability and public trust.
