Bank Bar, a popular speakeasy bar in BGC, will close on December 27, after 10 years of operation.
Opened in 2015 and operated by The Moment Group, the bar is tucked away behind a 7-Eleven stockroom. It has quickly become known as BGC's best-kept secret, thanks to its quality cocktails and relaxed vibe, far removed from the noisy club scene.
In a social media post, Bank Bar shared their gratitude to those who have been part of their journey. According to them, 10 years is the right time to end their story and thank their loyal guests.
Many customers shared memories and nostalgia online. Some said the stories at the bar were “legendary”, while others called it the best speakeasy in the country.
Bank Bar also gained recognition abroad after being included by CNN in its list of most intriguing speakeasies in the world. It is known for its signature cocktails like the Mariang Bastos, as well as its unique menu like the Beef Shawarma Rice.
