The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has allowed Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) to travel once their digital Provisional Authority (PA) is posted on the agency's online verifier.
PUVs include jeepneys, buses, and TNVS. Previously, a hard copy of the PA was required before traveling. Now, a digital copy available online is sufficient.
According to the LTFRB, digital PA is important so that enforcers can easily check if the vehicle has the correct documents. drivers and operators are also more protected when they are inspected.
This is part of the Ease of Doing Business Act (RA 11032) which aims to speed up the process and reduce red tape in the government.
With the new policy, more PUVs are expected to travel to improve commuter travel, especially during this holiday season.
