Three Chinese nationals were arrested in Manila for an alleged hotel-based cryptocurrency scam.
Chen Jinhao, 27; Yang Chao Wen, 37; and Yu Sun, 50 were arrested on November 7 at a hotel in Sta. Cruz.
According to the investigation, the suspects targeted investors in Hong Kong. Chen was the manager while Yang was the supervisor of the operation.
It was reported that Chen and Yang's stay in the Philippines has overdue, so the three are currently detained at the BI warden facility in Taguig while awaiting deportation.
The scam is estimated to have earned millions of pesos from victims.
