The National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) received 7,189 suicide-related calls from January to September 2025. The report showed that the highest number of calls were received in August (1,037), September (1,036), and June (1,002).
According to the NCMH, this number is 32.95% of the total 21,815 calls from people suffering from severe emotional problems over a nine-month period.
Most callers have anxiety and depression, followed by problems with love, family, and those seeking referrals. The fifth reason is the need for someone to talk to.
Since its launch in 2019, the hotline has recorded over 115,618 calls, mostly from ages 18 to 30 and residents of NCR, Calabarzon, and Central Luzon.
You can call toll-free at 1553 (landline) or 0919-057-1553 (Smart/TNT) and 0917-899-8727 (Globe/TM) for immediate mental health help and support.
