
Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo, the Philippines' first Olympic gold medalist, will officially begin her tenure as a teacher at the UP College of Human Kinetics (UP CHK) in January 2026.
In her post, Diaz-Naranjo shared that she met with the UP-CHK's College Executive Board in preparation for her new job as a lecturer. She said, “This is a new path and a level-up opportunity. It has been my long-time dream to design a curriculum to promote weightlifting.”
He added that he wants to share his experience in sports and also learn from his students. “I love weightlifting and I am ready to do everything to make it more popular and shared with the next generation,” said Diaz-Naranjo.
UP also thanked him for welcoming him. In his message: “Thank you for the opportunity and the trust you have given me. I am excited to meet the students and co-faculty in January 2026.”
Before this, Diaz-Naranjo was busy at the HD Weightlifting Academy, where he teaches young Filipinos who dream of becoming the next champion.
