FIFA has unveiled the official ball for the 2026 World Cup, which will be called Trionda. It was launched in New York, featuring innovative technology and a design that represents the three host countries: the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The Trionda was created by Adidas, which has been producing the official World Cup balls since 1970. Also visible are maple leaves from Canada, the Mexican eagle, and the stars of the United States, along with the triangle shape as a sign of unity.
The ball comes with high-tech features. It has deep seams for a more stable flight, and embossed icons for a better grip even when the ball is wet. It also has a motion sensor chip that provides real-time data to the VAR system.
The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19. There are 48 teams from different countries that will play in the three host nations. According to FIFA, more than ₱270 million fans (equivalent to 4.5 million people) from 216 countries have already participated in the ticket presale draw.
