The police in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Cotabato City have arrested a man who killed and robbed a motorcycle crash victim instead of helping him. The suspect was identified as Palao Bangon Mlok, who was caught in his hideout in Barangay Bitu.
According to the investigation, the victim, Daniel Datulayta, a construction worker, sought help after he had an accident while returning home to Barangay Kalawag 2, Sultan Kudarat. Instead of helping, Mlok killed him with a hammer and hid the body in a secluded area. The suspect also took the victim's money and belongings.
Two other associates of Mlok were arrested but were not named because the investigation is ongoing. According to police, the two promised to help strengthen the case against the suspect.
A background check revealed that Mlok had a long history of involvement in illegal drugs and had evaded several police operations in the past two years. His neighbors also described him as a addict.
Yesterday, police, residents, and Muslim elders together dug up Datulayta's body and returned it to his family for a proper burial.
