The accident occurred in Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya when a section of the Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road gave way on Friday morning. A jeepney loaded with tomatoes fell into a ravine, injuring the driver and his passenger.
According to the report of the Aritao DRRM Office, the incident occurred at around 5:50 a.m. in Brgy. Kirang, Purok 3. The construction of the said road was only completed this May 2025.
It is believed that the soil under the road softened, causing a landfall. As a result, part of the road completely gave way and the jeep crashed into a ravine.
For now, only one lane of the road can be used by motorists while the damaged section is repaired.
The jeep was carrying a load of tomatoes worth approximately ₱50,000, which was also involved in the accident.
