PUMA and Balenciaga's Fall/Winter 2025 collab has been officially unveiled after first showing at Paris Fashion Week. It's one of Demna's final collections for Balenciaga. Highlighted here is the tracksuit – a favorite of Demna's that he keeps revisiting to change the old image of luxury fashion with simple sportswear.
Amidst the fashion show, the mood changed as PUMA pieces made their way in — with windbreakers, football training sets, logo caps, and even the new PUMA x Balenciaga shopping bag. There were also new designs for Speedcat sneakers and ballet flats with a slightly vintage look.
Although the collab's designs are simple and more toned-down, it's not like Demna's previous collections like adidas x Balenciaga, where the tracksuits and jerseys were more exaggerated in size. Now, he seems to be opting for regular fit and basic shapes, as can also be seen in his 2024 Under Armour collab.
In an interview, Demna said that he was tired of oversized fashion. According to him, “I did that. I don’t want to do it again.” He said that he wanted a fresh start, so the FW25 collection has a simpler and more direct message.
Now that Demna is moving to Gucci, many are asking — will he bring his sportswear style or will he show a new fashion identity? Gucci has its own name and is harder to change compared to Balenciaga. Stay tuned to see what new and unique he will show next.
