A 43-year-old Filipina woman named Lyn was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 after being caught with 4.36 kilos of shabu estimated to be worth P29.7 million. According to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – NCR, Lyn hid the drugs in a black pouch wrapped in duct tape inside her suitcase.
Lyn had just returned from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia when she was stopped at the X-ray screening area at around 1:35 p.m.. Upon inspecting her bag, authorities found shabu hidden under clothes, towels, blankets, and comforters.
His passport, ID, and other travel documents were also confiscated from him. He is now facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
According to PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez, the operation was successful because of the help of other law enforcement agencies that are partners in anti-drug efforts.
On the same day in Caloocan City, two people were caught with 65 grams of shabu worth P442,000. They are now facing charges of drug trafficking.
