Insta360 has launched the new X5 360° action camera, with new upgrades from its previous model. The X5 features the largest sensor Insta360 has ever offered for a handheld consumer 360º camera, a 1/1.28-inch sensor that provides a significant improvement in image quality, including 8K video at 30fps.
Insta360 mentions that the X5 has a Triple AI Chip system that is fast and has AI-powered features like PureVideo, a new mode for low-light shooting. With these new features, the camera becomes more versatile in different lighting conditions.
The X5 has also been reinforced for durability. Insta360 calls it the “toughest 360° camera ever” due to the new ultra-durable glass in its replaceable lens system. According to the brand, it has a first-of-its-kind lens system that provides high-quality performance for adventurers.
The X5 has additional features such as a built-in wind guard for clear audio in difficult conditions, longer battery life (up to 3 hours), and improvements in waterproof capabilities (up to 49 feet). The software has also been beefed up, with a new InstaFrame Mode that captures auto-framed flat video and 360° video simultaneously.
The Insta360 X5 is now available on the Insta360 website and is priced at £519.99 GBP or $549.99 USD.
