Amid the heated controversy, actress and beauty queen Michelle Dee has filed a formal complaint against online influencer Xian Gaza and several Facebook pages for allegedly spreading false information. The complaint was submitted to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) where Dee asserted that untrue allegations were spread, including the allegation that he had allegedly fled the country.
Dee strongly denied the allegations and emphasized that being a public figure is not a license to tarnish his name through fake news. According to him, he is ready to face the process and defend his reputation. “I know I am in the right and I trust the system,” he stated, adding that he prefers to remain positive despite the issue.
Meanwhile, the NBI clarified that the cybercrime complaint filed by Dee is separate from another case related to the alleged assault of a driver whose name was also implicated. According to the agency's leadership, all evidence and social media posts will undergo authentication and preservation to ensure the integrity of the investigation. It is possible that the personalities mentioned will be summoned in the coming days to take their side.
On the influencer's side, Dee described the move as a "strategic move" and asserted that it could be part of damage control. However, Dee's camp assured that they will face all allegations through due process of law. As the investigation continues, the issue remains centered on social media accountability and the responsibility of each individual in sharing information online.
