LEGO has launched its latest work in the LEGO Art series in collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, featuring “Claude Monet – Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies.” This set consists of 3,179 pieces and brings to life Claude Monet’s famous 1899 painting. Instead of a simple mosaic, it has been transformed into a three-dimensional wall display with depth and texture resembling the original oil painting.
The work is inspired by the famous “The Water Lily Pond,” which uses a unique brick-laying technique to mimic Monet's Impressionist brushstrokes. Notable is the creative use of pieces such as swords, bananas, butterfly wings, and cherries to create the natural shapes of water lilies and bent trees. The result is a colorful and detailed work of art that can be viewed from afar as a peaceful landscape, and up close as an artistic combination of small parts.
