Low-income and marginalized families will be able to access electricity subsidies more easily starting this month, according to President Marcos. In an event at the Meralco Theater in Ortigas, Pasig, the President emphasized that government assistance should come directly to Filipinos.
According to Marcos, the automatic registration of all 4Ps beneficiaries in the Lifeline Rate Subsidy Program (LRSP) will be implemented this month. “Filipinos should not be the ones asking for help. Help should come to Filipinos,” Marcos said. He pointed out that the LRSP has not been fully utilized for a long time due to complex requirements.

The net-metering program process has also been simplified for faster installation of solar panels and selling excess electricity to the grid. According to Marcos, the policy is now clearer and the process is faster, and the government and the private sector will continue to collaborate to make electricity affordable, accessible, and reliable.
In his remarks, the President commended stakeholders such as Meralco for their initiatives in expanding electrification, increasing capacity, and providing affordable electricity to more Filipinos. These include the Terra Solar Project, electrification of remote communities, and support for net-metering and lifeline rate programs, which will help more families have access to energy.
