Spotify ended Q4 2025 with a record-breaking 751 million monthly active users after adding 38 million listeners in a single quarter. This success was accelerated by the largest Spotify Wrapped campaign, new AI-powered features, and upgraded free tier, which brought global hype to year-end listening habits.
Despite back-to-back price hikes in over 150 markets, premium subscribers reached 290 million, proving that users are still willing to pay for the ecosystem they have developed in the app. The result: quarterly revenue of approximately €4.5 billion EUR (approx. $5.3 billion USD) and a record gross margin of 33.1%.
Under new co-CEOs Gustav Söderström and Alex Norström, Spotify has increasingly positioned itself as a full-blown audio and media tech platform. Operating income rose to approximately €701 million EUR (approx. $835 million USD) as smarter licensing, tighter podcast spending, and better ad yield helped drive growth.
For 2026, Spotify plans to make the next chapter a “year of raising ambition”. They are targeting 759 million monthly active users and 293 million subscribers, while delving deeper into video, books, and creator-first AI experiences, reflecting a long-term vision for the platform.
