The Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines praised Filipino “Roblox Catholics” for their creative way of teaching the faith in the digital world.
In a message for the 5 anniversary of the group "Roblox Filipino Catholics" on January 10, Apostolic Nuncio Charles Brown said the group helps in "innovative access to the Church catechesis” through the game Roblox.
He said, “It is a good sign of progress when Catholic youth actively shape a more compassionate and fraternal society. The social hub you have created, even if virtual, can serve as a space of support and friendship, especially for those in need.”
Brown also praised the online simulation of the Traslacion that the group recently did. “I am glad to know that you have done an online simulation for the Feast Day of Jesus Nazareno, which gives those who cannot attend in Quiapo, Manila, the opportunity to participate meaningfully,” he added.
The nuncio also cited Pope Francis's message in Fratelli Tutti: “Social friendship and universal fraternity require recognition of the value of every person, everywhere and at all times.” Brown also encouraged the community to continue in holiness and be witnesses of their faith in the digital world.
