
Some local government units (LGUs) have implemented No Entry on January 16, 2026 due to severe weather caused by Typhoon Ada. According to PAGASA, heavy rains and winds are expected, boosted by the northeast monsoon and the periphery of the typhoon, which may continue until January 17 even in areas not in the direct path of the system.
In response, various areas have issued announcements for class suspensions. In Region V (Bicol Region), face-to-face classes in Albay and Sorsogon have been suspended at all levels, public and private. In Camarines Sur, classes from Kinder to Grade 6 in Bula have been canceled, while classes are suspended at all levels in selected schools including Caorasan High School, Itangon High School, and Sto. Niño Integrated School.
In Region VIII (Eastern Visayas), classes in Eastern Samar are suspended at all levels. In Biliran (Kawayan), there will be no classes starting the afternoon of January 15 until further notice. Meanwhile, in Catbalogan City, Samar, no face-to-face classes and shifting to alternative learning have been implemented to ensure the safety of students and teachers. Announcements will continue to be updated as weather conditions change.
