The former mayor of Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Calipahan, Talavera yesterday morning, police said.
The suspect was identified as Marvin Pariñas, former mayor, who was arrested after he allegedly sold shabu to police who pretended to be a buyer, according to Col. Heryl Bruno, Nueva Ecija police director.
According to investigators, shabu with an estimated street value of P476,000, as well as the marked money used in the operation, were seized from Pariñas.
Cases will be filed against Pariñas for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones, Central Luzon police director.
