Israel has imposed a ban on 37 NGOs providing aid to Gaza after they failed to meet set deadlines for security and transparency standards. Among those affected are Doctors Without Borders, Norwegian Refugee Council, World Vision International, and Oxfam.
According to the ministry, the main reason for the ban is the refusal of NGOs to provide complete information about their employees, which is considered a critical requirement to prevent the entry of terrorist operatives. NGOs are still allowed to have their licenses restored if the required documents are submitted before March 1, 2026.
The UN and other international groups have warned that this move will worsen the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which has been affected by the war that has destroyed almost 80% of the buildings and displaced more than 1.5 million residents. left-wing NGOs in Israel also said that the new regulation endangers the neutrality, independence, and impartiality of humanitarian organizations.
