
The SMC expressways will go toll-free on Christmas and New Year's Eves to help motorists reach their families. This includes Skyway System, NAIA Expressway, South Luzon Expressway, STAR Tollway, and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway.
Toll-free hours run from 10 p.m. Dec. 24 to 6 a.m. Dec. 25, and from 10 p.m. Dec. 31 to 6 a.m. Jan. 1, 2026. Safety and emergency teams are on high alert to manage expected holiday traffic.
Traffic monitoring centers are staffed 24/7, and roadworks affecting traffic have been paused from Dec. 20 to Jan. 4. Motorists are advised to plan trips ahead, allow extra travel time, and check Autosweep balances.
NAIA and PITX also prepare for higher passenger traffic. NAIA expects a 5% increase in passengers, totaling around 2.55 million from Dec. 20 to Jan. 4, with over 13,700 flights. PITX anticipates over three million travelers during the holidays.
