
The PNP and AFP conducted separate operations in Kalinga and Cagayan and seized weapons, explosives, and other supplies.
In the first operation on December 11, 2025 in Sitio Sagideng, Barangay Taga, Pinukpuk, Kalinga, police and soldiers discovered an abandoned communist camp. Food, medicine, communication equipment, and digital storage devices were confiscated. MK2 fragmentation grenades, rifle grenades, 40mm high-explosive cartridges, and rusty 5.56mm ammunition were also seized.
On December 13, troops discovered a cache of weapons in the forest near Pinicun Falls, Barangay Dadda, Amulung, Cagayan. High-grade explosives, assorted ammunition and magazines, a .38 caliber pistol with holster, and subversive documents were seized.
According to acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., information from the public is important to prevent violence and protect life in the community.
