Cavite Rep. Kiko Barzaga was advised by the House Ethics Committee to remove 24 posts from his social media after being found guilty of disorderly conduct.
According to Rep. JC Abalos, if Barzaga refuses to delete the posts, he could face heavier penalties. Abalos did not specify the exact additional sanctions.
Last Monday, Barzaga was suspended for 60 days for posts deemed reckless and inflammatory. His camp stated that this was part of his free speech and duty as a legislator.
In September, several members of the National Unity Party, led by House Deputy Speaker Ronaldo Puno, filed an ethics complaint against Barzaga. According to the complaint, some of his posts are lewd, flaunting wealth, and may incite seditious activity.
Barzaga was given 24 hours to remove these posts, according to Abalos.
