First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos went to Baguio City on Thursday to light the Christmas Tree at the presidential mansion. She was joined in the celebration by children from Barangay Lualhati and several officials, including former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Before the lighting ceremony, about a hundred students from Barangay Lualhati schools enjoyed games, gifts, and performances from the University of Baguio chorale and Philippine Military Academy band along with baton-twirling majorettes.
After the festivities, Mrs. Marcos mingled with the children before switching on the Christmas Tree. This was followed by colorful fireworks that delighted everyone.
Among those who attended the event were Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong and Baguio Rep. Mauricio Domogan. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is also a frequent visitor to Baguio and also joined in the celebration.
Since the century-old Mansion was converted into a museum in 2024, it has been part of First Lady Marcos' tradition to oversee the annual Christmas lighting in Baguio.
