A BuCor officer was suspended after being caught with illegal drugs at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa.
Two plastic sachets of suspected shabu hidden in a pandesal bag were seized from a corrections technical officer. The incident occurred during a routine inspection at NBP Gate 1, Maximum Security Compound at around 7:30 a.m. this Wednesday, according to BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr.
Catapang ordered the filing of formal charges against the said officer. At the same time, 33 plastic sachets of suspected shabu were also confiscated from an inmate in Dorm 5A of Bilibid.
Catapang reminded all corrections officers to remain vigilant and always follow Bilibid policies to prevent such incidents.
