The conflict in the Marcos family has heated up after President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. admitted that he and some relatives have long been concerned about the behavior of Senator Imee Marcos.
In a press briefing on November 24, Marcos said he did not want to discuss family problems in public, but he could not deny the strange behavior that he had allegedly noticed in his sister.
He emphasized that, “We have been worried about Imee for a long time… the one you see talking on TV, that is not my sister.”
When asked if he had spoken to Imee, the President said that they no longer talk to each other and that they no longer “are in the same world at the same time, whether political or personal.”
Imee didn't hold back and immediately issued a spicy response on social media an hour later. She said: “Bongbong, it's me. You're the one seeing someone else. Prove me wrong.”
The conflict between the brothers widened after the 2025 midterms, where Imee broke away from the administration slate and sided with the group of Vice President Sara Duterte, a former ally but now a rival of the President.
According to some analysts, this conflict could be part of a deeper show of strength that could potentially affect the upcoming elections.
