Wicked: For Good opened worldwide with a massive $226 million USD, making it the fourth-biggest debut of 2025. It outpaced other big films this year and left a strong mark on the global box office.
It also grossed $150 million in the US and $76 million from international screenings. As a result, the film broke the box-office record for a Broadway adaptation, beating the first Wicked, which had lower total earnings.
Directed by Jon M. Chu, the sequel concludes the story of Elphaba and Glinda as they try to change Oz for the better. The second part takes a darker tone, as Elphaba faces the wrath of the people, while the story focuses on their reunion and action for real change.
