Former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co said in a video that Marcos allegedly received a P25-billion kickback from the P100 billion budget insertions for 2025. But the minority insists that this is not credible evidence because it only came from social media and was not made under oath.
Co was challenged to come home and speak under oath if he is serious about the allegations. According to the NUP, Co's failure to return home leaves questions about the motive and truth of his claims.
Meanwhile, Rep. Paolo Duterte filed a resolution to investigate the allegations, especially since the details are big and serious. But Kabataan Rep. Raoul Manuel Cendaña said impeachment can only be discussed when there is concrete evidence, which is currently lacking.
The minority also said that even if someone files a complaint, it has little chance of progressing because of the strong House support for Marcos.
As the allegations surfaced, the League of Cities, Visayan bloc, and League of Provinces expressed support for Marcos. They praised his anti-corruption drive and called for unity and stability.
The Bureau of Immigration also issued a statement, saying there is no record of Co's former aide, John Paul Estrada, leaving the country, in response to allegations that he was helped to leave using a fake passport. The BI and NBI insisted that the allegations are untrue and that they are investigating the issue....
