Cavite Rep. Kiko Barzaga was arraigned before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office on charges of inciting to sedition and inciting to rebellion. According to his Facebook post, he must personally attend the preliminary investigation on November 17 and 25 to determine whether the case will proceed to court.
The subpoena did not specify the details of the complaint, but DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez confirmed that the document is legitimate. According to PNP-CIDG Director Police Major General Robert Morico II, the complaint is related to incidents in Mendiola and Recto, Manila on September 21, 2025.
Barzaga, known for his anti-corruption stance, posted on Facebook and criticized President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., asking: "How many did your father kill or imprison before removing him from office? We cannot be stopped, the revolution will only grow stronger!"
In October, Barzaga called on people to go to Forbes Park, Makati, to "storm" houses allegedly owned by some congressmen. But activists said his actions were clout chasing lamang at nakaka-distract sa tunay na isyu ng korapsyon sa flood-control project.
Following this, the groups urged to focus on the proper fight against corruption and not on Barzaga's controversial activities.
