
The Philippine National Police has deployed more than 21,000 personnel nationwide for rescue and relief efforts in areas hit by Typhoon Uwan (Fung-wong).
21,682 police officers are currently deployed to support evacuation, disaster preparedness, and relief operations in the affected provinces. This includes working with local government units and other disaster agencies to ensure a faster and more efficient response.
An additional 16,628 members of the Reactionary Standby Support Force and 1,566 vehicles have been deployed especially in Regions 2, 4A, 4B, 5, and 8 to strengthen operations.
Police have conducted 62 rescue and retrieval operations and rescued 10,112 people. Of the 28,008 evacuation centers, 9,853 are currently operational, housing 443,073 families or more than 1.4 million people.
24 police stations, 2 headquarters, and 2 vehicles were damaged. 28 personnel were also affected. According to PAGASA, the typhoon was located 135 km northwest of Bacnotan, La Union. Two deaths were reported due to the typhoon.
