Fans of demon-hunting K-pop girl group Huntr/x will have to wait until 2029 for their next animated musical adventure, KPop Demon Hunters 2.
According to the report, Netflix and Sony have confirmed that the sequel will be released later this year. Production has been taking a long time due to the complex process of making animated films, so the release date may change.
The first film, which was released in August 2025, was a huge hit on Netflix, becoming the most popular film on the platform. It grossed an estimated ₱8.4 billion, and its songs “Golden,” “Your Idol,” and “Soda Pop” also topped the music charts.
Maggie Kang, the film's co-director, said she was happy to continue the story because there were many unfinished parts in the first movie. Fans are expecting more action, music, and new characters in the 2029 sequel.
For fans of K-pop and animation, the return of Huntr/x is definitely worth the wait.
