
The A police officer assigned to the Bacolod City Police Office voluntarily surrendered after admitting to killing a single mom who was reported missing in Bago City, Negros Occidental.
According to a police report, an abandoned vehicle with traces of blood was found on October 29 in Sitio So-ol, Barangay Gargato, Hinigaran. The vehicle was later confirmed to belong to a 42-year-old woman who was reported missing.
On November 1, the main suspect, a police staff sergeant, surrendered and admitted his involvement in the victim's disappearance. In his statement, he said that they had an argument inside the car and out of jealousy, he "accidentally" shot the woman, who was allegedly his girlfriend.
After the confession, investigators and Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) conducted an operation in Hinigaran. With the help of the suspect, they found the victim's body in a secluded area where it was allegedly hidden.
The police officer has been charged with murder. The PNP leadership assured that the investigation will be fair and open to the public. They also expressed their condolences to the victim's family and assured that justice will be served.
