
Local governments in Visayas and Mindanao have announced class suspensions on Monday, November 3, due to heavy rains and flooding caused by Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi). According to PAGASA, several areas are under Signal No. 1 and may become a typhoon within 24 hours.
As a precaution, classes from preschool to senior high school have been canceled in various provinces such as Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental in Region VI. There are also some cities such as Bacolod and Roxas City that have canceled face-to-face classes until November 4.
In Region VII, Bohol and Cebu Provinces have also declared no school at all levels, public and private. In Region VIII, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Samar are among the areas with suspensions until November 4.
In Mindanao, Butuan City in the Caraga Region has canceled face-to-face classes at all levels due to inclement weather. The public is advised to remain alert to LGU and PAGASA advisories as rains and rising water levels continue in some areas.
Residents are urged to monitor weather updates and prepare for possible flooding and evacuate to a safe area if necessary. Authorities continue to remind residents to prioritize everyone's safety.
