
Typhoon Ramil (Fengshan) left seven dead, two missing, and one injured, according to the NDRRMC report on Monday, October 20. Among the dead were five men and two women.
Up to 37,825 families or 133,196 people have been affected in nine provinces and 35 cities and towns. More than 13,000 people have been evacuated; 7,511 of them remain in 166 evacuation centers while 6,199 are temporarily staying in other places.
Severe flooding hit 48 areas in Central Luzon, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and Eastern Visayas. Twelve roads and ten bridges were affected, most of them impassable. Of the ports, 60 were affected, stranding 4,178 passengers, 1,433 rolling cargoes, 13 ships, and 26 motorbancas.
According to the NDRRMC, the government has allocated approximately ₱2.08 million in aid for affected families. Of this amount, ₱17,560 was directly given to local government units and responding agencies.
Typhoon Ramil exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday morning but caused widespread flooding and damage in Luzon and Visayas after several days of heavy rain and winds.
