
Typhoon Ramil (Fengshan) crossed Manila Bay and passed Olongapo City, Zambales this afternoon, Sunday, October 19, 2025. It brought heavy rains and winds to Metro Manila and Central Luzon.
According to PAGASA, Ramil has maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph, while moving at a speed of 15 kph. Gale-force winds are reaching up to 430 km from the center.
Signal No. 2 has been raised in parts of Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Zambales, Bataan, and several cities in Metro Manila including Quezon City, Caloocan, Manila, Makati, Pasay, Taguig, and Parañaque.
There is Signal No. 1 in northern Luzon, including Cagayan, Isabela, Ilocos Region, as well as in some parts of Quezon, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Camarines Norte.
PAGASA has warned of storm surge with a height of 1–2 meters along the low-lying coasts of Aurora, Quezon, Zambales, Bataan, Batangas, Cavite, Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Mindoro. sailing in the western seas of Luzon is also hazardous due to waves that could reach 4.5 meters. Ramil is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday, October 20, and possibly re-strengthen in the West Philippine Sea.
