Rapper Nicki Minaj surprised everyone after announcing that she has canceled her upcoming sixth studio album. On X (formerly Twitter), he posted a bold message: “Ok I won’t release the album anymore. No more music.” Before finishing the post, he even addressed Jay-Z and said, “Hope you’re happy now. Bye, Barbz. Love you for life.”
It will be recalled that it was only a few weeks ago when Minaj confirmed the March 2026 release date for the album that follows her successful Pink Friday 2. But now, the plan has been completely scrapped after her long-standing conflict with people connected to Roc Nation worsened. The issue here is allegedly the improper equity payout from the sale of TIDAL, which was worth more than ₱13 billion.
He also released a series of fiery posts, in which he accused several people in the industry of ruining and controlling his career. He even mocked Jay-Z's failed bid for a casino license in New York.
Even though Minaj has made it clear that she doesn't want to do music anymore, her fans, known as Barbz, are not convinced. For them, this is just a dramatic power play and not a complete farewell to the industry.
For now, everyone is waiting to see if the decision is truly permanent or if it is just a strategy to show his stance.
