President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is too busy with his work to pay attention to the impeachment plan of Cavite Rep. Kiko Barzaga, Malacañang said. It said it is within the jurisdiction of the House of Representatives.
Barzaga presented a prepared impeachment complaint against Marcos. According to him, the President violated the public trust and the Constitution, due to the alleged corruption in flood control projects.
According to Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro, the President is so busy right now that he doesn't understand this kind of issue. “If there is no evidence, it should not be believed,” she added.
Castro also mentioned that impeachment has a limit — it can only be initiated against the same official once per year. That's why Marcos Jr. focused on improving the country and not on controversies.
