Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) have formally signed a Deed of Donation and Partnership for the Mitsubishi Strada Athlete pick-up. The purpose of this is to support the DUNONG Program, which helps with the education and nutrition of children with reading difficulties and malnutrition.
The program combines learning and proper nutrition. It aims to help children not only learn to read and study, but also become healthy and energetic.
According to MMPC Chairman Noriaki Hirakata, collaboration between industry and academia is essential for long-term development. “This turnover is a symbol of the partnership that unites the strengths of industry and education for the development of the country,” he said.
MMPC President & CEO Ritsu Imaeda said that supporting this program is part of their mission in nation-building. “We are not just focused on producing quality vehicles. Our goal is to be a partner in the development of the country through programs that help people’s lives,” Imaeda added.
UPLB Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr. expressed gratitude for the assistance of MMPC. “The Strada Athlete that was provided is a great help in the implementation of the DUNONG Program. We can more easily reach schools and communities, so that children can grow in knowledge and health,” he said.
