Controversial congressman Zaldy Co has an estimated P4.7 billion worth of air assets, according to Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon. The data comes from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
Co, who is a representative of the Ako Bicol party-list and chairman of the appropriations committee, has 11 registered air assets under his company Misibis Aviation and Development Corp.. These include:
AgustaWestland AW1398 – P944M (two)
Gulfstream 350 – P2B
Bell 407 – P167M and P890M
Bell 206B3 – P37M
In total, this amounts to P4.28 billion.
According to Dizon, Co's Hi Tone Construction Corp. also holds air assets worth P455.6M, while QM Builder has a Bell 505 worth P114.8M.
Dizon has already forwarded the report to the AMLC, DOJ, and Independent Commission on Infrastructure for possible action. Some of Co's assets have also been frozen following allegations of P35 billion in budget insertions and kickback schemes.
Co denies the allegations, but the DOJ is preparing charges against him for things like indirect bribery and malversation.
