My name is Lee, 31 (M). In 2014, I became Born Again and that's when I focused on church. Even though I had a side job at a computer shop, I never neglected to attend work. During that time, I met him on social media. I noticed that almost all of my posts are viewed by him.
That's where our connection started until we became us. We've been LDR for two years, and we've also been living together in the same house for almost two years. I thought he was the one, but as time went on, I felt more and more that something was wrong.
I've caught him cheating many times. There are times when I ask him, his excuse is “I'm not chatting there, I'm just embarrassed if I don't reply.” or “I didn't tell you, you might get angry.” Sometimes, “Even though he said I love you, I didn't reply.” But why repeatedly? To him, I'm stifling. He always says “it's just friendship.”
It got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore so I checked his account. That's where I saw that his ex from high school had been sending him things. And the most painful thing? A 7ft stuffed toy bear that he himself had requested. But I couldn't give it to him because all I could afford at the time was a 2ft bear. Not because I didn't want to, but because we were having money problems.
I also can't forget that he had ₱12,000 in debt because of guaranteeing someone else. Even though I didn't want to, he still did it. Because of that, I also got involved and was buried in debt. I endured all of that because I loved him. But as time went on, I felt that he prioritized material things over our relationship.
In the end, I decided to break up. Not because of anger, but because the pain and tiredness were too much. But the truth is, I still love him to this day. Even though I left him, there is still a part of my heart that hopes that he might change.
So now, I just want to ask: Was it wrong that I chose to leave, even though I still love him?
