The fire broke out in a residential area in Barangay Balingasa, Quezon City at around 3 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025. It escalated to second alarm at around 4:12 a.m.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), more than 30 firetrucks from the BFP and volunteers responded. The fire was declared fire out at 6:29 a.m. A 27-year-old man suffered second-degree burns, but no fatalities were reported.
A total of 15 houses were destroyed and 49 people were affected. Some residents were able to salvage items such as money and clothing, while others were left with nothing but their families.
Response was made difficult because the road was narrow, according to Fire Senior Inspector Bernardo Soriano. Firefighters had to lay down a hose from outside to extinguish the fire.
The damage is estimated to reach ₱1.5 million. The BFP is still investigating the cause of the fire. The local government and DSWD are also ready to provide assistance to those affected.
