Honda Racing Corporation has released a limited-edition scale model of the famous RA272 for the 60th anniversary of its first Formula 1 win. The original car, driven by Richie Ginther, brought Honda its first victory at the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix — the first win by a Japanese car, engine, and team in F1.
It is handcrafted by experts and available in two sizes: 1:8 scale limited to 30 pieces worth around P1.7 million, and 1:18 scale limited to 300 pieces priced at P102,000. Each model has over 1,600 pieces and comes complete with a detailed replica of the 1.5L V12 engine, display case, certificate of authenticity, and a booklet signed by Koji Watanabe, president of Honda Racing Corporation.
These models will be first shown at a special car event in Monterey before being released online. Using a digital scan of the original RA272 housed in the Honda Collection Hall in Japan, it accurately depicts every detail from the paint to the engine. This is not just a collection, but an invitation to be a part of Honda's motorsport history.
