The tragic accident on the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEx) in Tarlac City on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of five passengers and the injuries of nine others.
According to the van driver, he lost control of the vehicle while in Barangay Balingcanaway at around 8 a.m.. As a result, the van crashed into a metal fence on the side of the expressway.
Based on video footage that spread on social media, several victims can be seen lying on the side of the road after the incident.
Five passengers died on the spot while nine others were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Damage to the vehicle and structure is estimated to be ₱280,000.
