One of the rarest Porsche 911s equipped with a Formula One engine is heading to auction. This model, called the Porsche 911 TAG Turbo “AP87,” could sell for up to ₱118,000,000. This is just one of 11 units built by motorsport experts to house the 1.5L twin-turbo TAG-Porsche V6 engine that was used by Alain Prost in several Formula One races in 1986 and 1987.
With 510 hp, a top speed of 200 mph, and a weight of 286 pounds over the original version, it's based on a 930 Turbo that was rebuilt to be faster and lighter. Dubbed the AP87 in tribute to the engine code 051, it's a true collector's item for motorsport enthusiasts.
Dressed in a Mintgrün finish with black leather and tartan inserts, it's not just about speed but also about unique design. It features carbon fiber panels, six-speed manual gearbox, and gold RUF wheels for ultimate performance. It has only been driven a total of 311 miles since construction was completed.
In March 2025, it underwent a full service and had updated software and ECU tuning for improved performance. The AP87 is no ordinary restomod—it's an iconic motorsport build made street-legal, making it a rare opportunity for collectors to own a piece of Formula One history housed within a Porsche 911 silhouette.
